How it works

Four simple steps. Zero stored history.

01

Write your secret.

Type any sensitive message — passwords, credentials, private notes. Nothing is logged.

02

Create a one-time link.

Your message is encrypted in your browser. A unique self-destructing link is generated.

03

Send it to the recipient.

Share the link via any channel. If you used a password, send it separately.

04

It disappears after it is opened.

Once the link is opened, the secret is permanently and irrecoverably deleted.

Our privacy promise

Built around one principle: we cannot read your secrets.

  • No accounts or logins — ever.
  • No analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party scripts.
  • Messages are encrypted before they leave your browser.
  • No readable messages stored on our servers.
  • No IP addresses or content logged.
  • No public history or user profiles.
  • Links expire automatically and are single-use.
  • Passwords hashed securely — never stored in plaintext.

Frequently asked questions

Can SecretPacket read my message?

No. Messages are encrypted in your browser using AES-256-GCM before leaving your device. The decryption key lives only in the URL fragment and is never sent to our servers. We are technically unable to read your message.

Can a secret be opened more than once?

No. Once revealed, the secret is immediately and permanently destroyed. Any further attempts to open the same link show a "secret unavailable" message.

What happens if nobody opens the link?

The secret automatically expires after the time you selected — 15 minutes, 1 hour, 24 hours, or 7 days — and is then permanently deleted.

Do I need an account?

No. SecretPacket does not use accounts, logins, email addresses, or user profiles of any kind.

Can I add a password?

Yes. An optional password adds a second access-control gate on top of the encryption. Always share the password separately from the link — never in the same message.

Is my IP address logged?

No. We do not log IP addresses of users who create or view secrets.
